Coronation Life Assurance Limited has Nigerians to leverage life insurance products to save for the future.

The insurer gave this advice in a webinar with the theme: Protection Against the Unexpected: How Confident Are You about the Future?, which also showcased experts from different sectors and was moderated by Wole Famurewa, CNBC Africa Anchor.

Speaking at the webinar, Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) Mrs. Abimbola Tiamiyu, urged the public to desist from living on loans, but use insurance to save towards their needs.

She also called for the engagement of financial planners while noting that life insurers are experts in helping people plan their future with little funds.

Showcasing savings-linked insurance products that the public can leverage to secure confidence for their future, the Head, of Underwriting Life, Coronation Life Assurance Limited, Kenneth Essu, said the firm has savings-linked insurance products such as term assurance; life insurance, annuity; loss of job; group life amongst others.

He urged the public to consult Coronation Life Assurance for their financial plan, noting that expert guidance is highly necessary in structuring a formidable financial plan.

He charged the public to leverage insurance products to determine the kind of wealth they anticipate for the future.

Dr. Tunde Salako, Founder of Africa Insurtech Lab (A.I.L) and speaker at the webinar, charged insurers to follow trends especially embedded product drive that is fast changing insurance dynamics.

According to him, technology has continued to advance insurance, stating that insurance companies can never migrate to the new world of business without leveraging digital innovations such as artificial intelligence, the internet of Things, and more.

He also called for robust awareness and continuous education would help stem the issue of trust deficit in the industry.

Director, of Life Operations, African Reinsurance Corporation, Chris Saigbe, tasked insurers to evolve products that would endear the younger generation to Insurance, stressing that there is an urgent need for more personalized insurance products.

He called for flexibility in product development and that products should be tailored towards meeting consumers’ needs.
