As Nigeria’s insurance industry enters the post-recapitalisation era, KBL Insurance Limited has renewed its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) certification, reinforcing its drive for operational excellence and improved customer service.

The recertification, which remains valid until June 21, 2029, comes at a time when insurers are under increasing pressure to strengthen corporate governance, improve service delivery and enhance operational efficiency to meet rising customer expectations in the market.

Speaking on the achievement, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, KBL Insurance Limited, Lawal Mijinyawa, described the recertification as another milestone in the company’s pursuit of service excellence and sustainable growth.

According to him, the successful renewal validates the strength of the company’s internal systems and processes while reinforcing the confidence of customers, shareholders, regulators and business partners.

“Our successful ISO 9001:2015 recertification reflects our unwavering commitment to quality, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. It validates the robustness of the systems and processes we have institutionalized, while further strengthening the confidence our customers, business partners and other stakeholders repose in KBL Insurance,” he said.

Mijinyawa said the company would continue to invest in service innovation, digital transformation, operational efficiency and enterprise risk management to align with global standards and respond to the changing needs of customers.

He noted that the achievement was made possible through the dedication of the company’s workforce and management, whose commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement has positioned KBL Insurance among the emerging players in Nigeria’s general insurance market.

According to him, the insurer remains focused on leveraging innovation, sound corporate governance and quality-driven service delivery to create sustainable value for policyholders and other stakeholders while contributing to the growth of the insurance industry.

Industry observers said the renewed certification highlights a broader shift within Nigeria’s insurance industry towards stronger governance frameworks, internationally benchmarked operational standards and customer-focused service delivery.

They argued that as insurers race to strengthen their capital base under the ongoing recapitalization exercise, competitive advantage will increasingly depend not only on financial strength but also on service quality, claims efficiency, digital capability and adherence to global operational standards.
