‎MTN Nigeria has introduced a digital solution that enables small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to track customer behaviour, improve marketing strategies and manage business connectivity more efficiently as competition intensifies across the Nigerian market.
‎The solution, known as Y’ello Y’Fi, combines broadband connectivity with customer analytics and network management tools, allowing businesses to gain insights into customer preferences and use the information to strengthen engagement and improve service delivery.
‎The initiative reflects the growing importance of data-driven decision-making among businesses seeking to retain customers, attract new ones and improve operational efficiency in an increasingly digital economy.
‎Through the platform, SMEs can customise Wi-Fi login pages to reflect their brands, capture customer insights, manage connected devices and run promotional campaigns targeted at their customers.
‎The solution also provides real-time analytics on customer behaviour and usage patterns, offering businesses information that could help them understand consumer preferences, refine marketing activities and build customer loyalty.
‎Beyond customer engagement, Y’ello Y’Fi offers tools for managing network traffic, controlling bandwidth and monitoring connected devices. Businesses can also create separate access channels for employees and guests to improve network security and ensure more efficient use of available resources.
‎Commenting on the initiative, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Lynda Saint-Nwafor, said small businesses needed more than internet connectivity to compete and grow.
‎“Small businesses need more than connectivity to compete and grow. They need tools that help them understand their customers, improve engagement, and make smarter decisions,” she said.
‎According to her, the platform would provide SMEs with branded digital experiences, actionable insights and network controls to support their business operations.
‎“Our goal is to make digital solutions smarter, more accessible, and more relevant to the everyday realities of doing business in Nigeria,” she added.
‎MTN said Y’ello Y’Fi is available on its 5G Tozed X25 and X100 broadband routers.
‎Existing customers can add the analytics solution to their current service, while new subscribers can opt for packages that include a compatible router, dedicated data and access to the platform.
‎The company said the initiative underscores its commitment to supporting small businesses with digital tools that could help them improve customer relationships, strengthen operational efficiency and identify new growth opportunities.
‎As more businesses adopt digital platforms to serve their customers, access to reliable connectivity and customer data is becoming increasingly important for understanding market demands and making informed business decisions.
‎However, the extent to which SMEs benefit from such solutions will depend on their ability to interpret the available data and translate the insights into effective marketing and customer service strategies.
