Industry captains in the nation’s insurance and pension industry have revealed plans to review the role of the sector in sustaining economic development and also set an agenda for the new administration on how to promote the sector.
This, according to them, will top discussion at the eighth edition of the Nigerian Association of Insurance and Pension Editors (NAIPE) yearly National Conference, which will provide operators with a platform to appraise the level at the sectors that have supported and contributed to the economy.
The conference theme: ‘Role of Insurance and Pension Sectors in Building Sustainable Economic Growth under the New Government’ is considered apt and relevant to the agenda of the new administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on deepening the contribution of the sector to economic growth.
The event will hold on September 7, 2023 in Lagos.
The discussion has become necessary, following the abysmally low penetration of insurance and slow growth in pension enrolment given the country’s huge population.
The conference will be chaired by a chartered insurer and actuarist, Wole Oshin, who is the founder and managing director of Custodian Group.
The keynote address will be delivered by Managing Director/CEO of APT Securities and Funds Limited, Kasim Garba Kurfi, the organiser said.
