An initiative aimed at empowering grassroots hairstylists, the Federal Government has partnered with Wema Bank to support the SARA x Style Pro Academy to a greater height.

The programme will provide all-expense-paid expert hairstyling training, business and financial mastery courses, and opportunities to win exciting prizes.

Speaking to the development, the Special Assistant to the president (OVP) on Digital and Creative Economy who is the driving force behind the SARA x Style Pro Academy, Fegho Umunubo, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. “This initiative is a game changer for grassroots hairstylists. By equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need, we’re not just improving individual livelihoods; we’re uplifting entire communities.

We believe that with the right training, these talented individuals can turn their passion into sustainable businesses,” umunubo said, Wema Bank’s management also shared their commitment to this transformative initiative. “At Wema Bank, we believe in fostering entrepreneurship and supporting local talents. Partnering with the Federal Government on the SARA x Style Pro Academy is a testament to our dedication to empowering the youth and providing them with the resources they need to succeed in the hairstyling industry,” said Ayodele Olojede, Divisional Head, Retail and SME “We are excited to be part of this journey and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have.”

Debstar Training Facility, a key collaborator in this initiative, highlighted the importance of specialized training for hairstylists. “The SARA x Style Pro Academy will offer participants not only technical hairstyling skills but also vital business acumen.

This holistic approach ensures that our hairstylists are well-equipped to thrive in a competitive market,” said, Deborah Oduneye Oluwatosin Founder, Debstarbeauty Academy. “We are proud to partner in this effort to nurture talent and creativity

within the industry.”

The SARA x Style Pro Academy is set to launch this November with applications open to aspiring hairstylists across the country. Selected participants will receive

comprehensive training, mentorship, and the chance to showcase their skills in competitions, fostering both personal and professional growth.
