The National Youth Service Corps has fixed July 7 for the commencement of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course, with prospective corps members deployed to Niger State to undergo their three-week orientation programme in Abuja following the temporary relocation of the state’s orientation camp.
The scheme said the decision to relocate the orientation exercise was taken to ensure the safety and welfare of corps members while ongoing work and other logistical considerations affecting the Niger State Orientation Camp are being addressed.
According to the NYSC, all prospective corps members deployed to Niger State are expected to report to the designated orientation camp in Abuja on July 7 for registration and the commencement of orientation activities.
The management of the scheme urged prospective corps members to print their call-up letters and carefully study the information contained therein, including their reporting dates, required documents and camp guidelines.
It also advised participants to report to camp on the stipulated date, warning that late registration could affect their participation in the orientation exercise.
The orientation course, which marks the beginning of the one-year national service programme, will feature military drills, leadership training, entrepreneurship development, lectures on national integration and other activities designed to prepare corps members for their primary assignments.
The NYSC reiterated its commitment to the safety and well-being of corps members, assuring participants that adequate arrangements had been made to ensure a seamless orientation exercise at the temporary location.
The scheme further called on prospective corps members to comply with all camp rules and regulations and cooperate with officials throughout the exercise.
The relocation comes as the NYSC continues to implement measures aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of orientation programmes across the country while maintaining the security and welfare of participants.
