As preparation for the Ondo State governorship election increases, Former House of Representatives member, Hon Abayomi Sheba has  announced the withdrawal of his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

In a letter addressed to the party chairman of his ward 3 in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State, Sheba, who was an Acting Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, when he represented Ondo State at the Federal agency, said he was quitting the PDP after consultations with his family and political associates.

The politician has returned back to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and endorsed governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa ahead of the APC primary on Saturday this week.

In the PDP, Sheba pursued the ticket of the party for the seat of House of Representatives in Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency but lost to Gboluga Ikengboju.

Similarly, he attempted to contest the governorship election under the PDP but later opted out of the race.

His letter read in parts: “Resignation of Membership. I hereby write to resign my membership of The People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) forthwith. “My resignation is purely personal after due consultations with my family and political associates .“Thanks for the camaraderie and goodness we shared during my stay.
