…Expanding access to healthcare for vulnerable communities

AXA Mansard has partnered with Baobab Nigeria to provide free health insurance to low-income individuals. The initiative, launched in October 2024, aims to cover 5,000 Nigerians—starting in Lagos—by 2026. Over 1,000 people will receive six-month coverage that includes primary care, essential medications, and local financial education .

In addition, the company has led medical outreaches across communities like Abule Oja in Lagos. Hundreds of residents received health screenings, education, and mosquito nets—thanks to AXA’s funding and volunteers

AXA Mansard Health also extended insurance to 100 children supported by Chess‑In‑Slums Africa, ensuring continued access to preventative and curative care

2. Championing Environmental Action & Climate Awareness

Through its global employee volunteer program, AXA Hearts in Action, staff participated in the “Trash to Treasure” initiative during AXA Week for Good in June 2024. Volunteers cleansed beaches, waterways, and neighborhoods of plastic waste—highlighting that Nigeria is among the world’s top 20 contributors to marine debris, with 88% of plastic un-recycled illustrating how environmental stewardship and social welfare can go hand‑in‑hand .

3. Empowering MSMEs & Boosting Financial Literacy

Small business owners have benefited from AXA Mansard’s support at the “Made by Nigerians Fair,” where several MSMEs were offered free exhibition stands to showcase products and raise their profile.

Meanwhile, AXA Mansard Investments Ltd. has launched major efforts in financial literacy, offering free seminars, webinars, expert content, and one‑on‑one advisory services. These initiatives target financially excluded Nigerians, equipping them with skills in budgeting, investing, debt management, and retirement planning

What This Means for Nigeria

  • Inclusive health protection: More Nigerians are gaining access to medical care without financial hardship.

  • Better environmental health: The “Trash to Treasure” campaign is improving marine ecosystems and communities, while turning waste into meaningful support.

  • Sustainable economic growth: Financial literacy and MSME backing help families and businesses plan wisely, invest confidently, and contribute to national development.

Voices from the Field

  • Tope Adeniyi, CEO of AXA Mansard Health, emphasizes:

“Healthcare should be accessible, available and affordable… We are committed to empowering individuals and families.”

  • Rashidat Adebisi, Chief Client Officer, reflects:

“Through AHIA… we work together for a better future… protecting what matters.”

Looking Ahead

AXA Mansard isn’t stopping here. With goals to expand free insurance to 5,000 people by 2026, deepen environmental programs, and broaden financial education, the company is showing that businesses can—and should—play a transformative role in national development.

In summary, AXA Mansard is setting a new standard in Nigeria. Through integrated efforts in health, environment, and economic empowerment, they’re not just offering insurance—they’re building a healthier, more resilient society.
