In a heartening show of corporate social responsibility and support for women empowerment, AXA Mansard Investments, a member of the AXA Group and a leading asset management firm in Nigeria, proudly sponsored ‘The Mum Fund’ event, an initiative aimed at empowering 200 working-class mothers across Lagos.
The event, held over the weekend, brought together women from diverse backgrounds for a full day of learning, mentorship, networking, and financial education. It was designed to equip mothers with tools to build financial stability, improve work-life balance, and pursue personal and entrepreneurial growth.
Speaking at the event, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at AXA Mansard Investments, Mrs. Olubunmi Ekundare, stressed the importance of supporting mothers who often juggle multiple responsibilities. “At AXA Mansard, we understand the pivotal role women — and especially mothers — play in both family and society. Our sponsorship of ‘The Mum Fund’ reflects our commitment to fostering inclusive growth and empowering women with the financial confidence to secure their future and that of their families,” she said.
Workshops at the event covered topics such as smart investing for mothers, time management, mental health, personal branding, and building sustainable side businesses. Participants also received free financial consultations and tools to kickstart their investment journeys.
The founder of ‘The Mum Fund’, Temi Ajibewa, lauded AXA Mansard for their support. “This partnership allowed us to scale our impact significantly. With AXA Mansard on board, we were able to reach more women, provide higher-quality resources, and deepen the financial literacy components of our programming,” she noted.
Many of the attendees left the event inspired and energized, sharing testimonials of how the event opened their eyes to new possibilities. One mother, a schoolteacher, said, “For the first time, I feel like I have a plan for my money, my business idea, and my dreams.”
