THE Federal Government has concluded arrangements to initiate a new programme called Investing in Digital and Creative Enterprises with over $600 million commitment to support young people engaging in skills development.

In addition, it urged the youths to grab the opportunity with all sense of commitment and steadfastness for the overall good of the country in its march to industrial and economic greatness.

National Coordinator, Social Investment Programme, Umar Bindir, revealed this at the fifth National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo in Abuja, saying, the programme is aimed at training youths through several skill acquisitions.

Bindir also stated: “We have established a N75 billion National Youth Investment Fund that will provide financial support for small businesses in all fields of human endevaour,” adding that with digital and creative enterprises the dreams of young people will come alive.

He declared: “The administration, in pursuant of the goal to equip the youth in gainful and meaningful employment and job opportunities, recently partnered the United Nations Development Programme, the European Union and Nigerian organised private sector to start the Jubilee Fellows Internship Programme.”

According to him, in the next five years, the scheme would cater to the career needs of 20,000 students after NYSC, by giving internship opportunities in private sector companies and public agencies.
