…I will uphold and enhance the foundational work of KSO, Sunshine and Oba Ashimiyu… Ikugbayigbe vows

In light of the recently released timetable by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for the upcoming Local Government elections on July 12, 2025, Elder Comr. Femi Ikugbayigbe has officially announced his aspiration for the Chairmanship position in Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area.

Recognized as a seasoned administrator and public affairs analyst, Ikugbayigbe expressed his intention to build upon and sustain the positive legacies established by previous and current Executive Chairmen of the council.

He highlighted the impactful contributions of the current Executive Chairman, Hon. Kunle Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, as well as those of his predecessors, Hon. Waheed Adebayo Bello (Sunshine) and HRM Oba Ashimiyu Okikiade Adebowale Atanda Olorunfemi, Kudaki Obalufon 1, Dada Otta, the pioneering Chairman of the council.

In a statement made through his media office, Ikugbayigbe appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Egbe-Idimu in particular, Alimosho Federal Constituency and Lagos state at large to consider his two-decade-long contributions to the party’s growth and development. He emphasized his commitment to the party’s ideals and progressive values, seeking to be recognized as the party’s nominee for the Chairmanship position.

As outlined in the LASIEC timetable, the July 12th elections will encompass 57 chairmen across 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs, and 376 Councillorship seats across various political wards in the state, with a rerun scheduled for one week later on July 19, 2025. Campaign activities will commence on April 18, 2025, and conclude on July 9, 2025, providing candidates ample time to connect with the electorate.

Elder Comr. Femi Ikugbayigbe is poised to bring his experience and vision to the forefront of the Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area, promising to uphold and enhance the foundational work of his predecessors.
