We unequivocally state that Elder Comr. Femi Ikugbayigbe did not step down under any form of duress. Contrary to speculation, he made this decision following extensive consultations with party leadership and after careful evaluation of all aspirants within the party.
In a statement released today, the 29th day of April, 2025, Elder Comr. Ikugbayigbe expressed his commitment to the party’s progressive ideologies and highlighted the importance of party unity. He stated, “Our decision came after a thorough screening process involving all nine aspirants and was made in good faith to uphold the interests of the party.”
Elder Comr. Ikugbayigbe underscored his belief in Hon. Ayinde’s vision for the community, saying, “I firmly believe that Comr. Tayo Ayinde shares our party’s values and possesses the dedication to advance our community’s development.”
