In a significant show of loyalty to the principles and tenets of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Elder Comr. Rotn. Femi Ikugbayigbe has officially stepped down his Chairmanship aspiration in favor of Hon. Chief, Rotn. Comr. Tayo Ayinde.

This was contained in a statement personally signed by Ikugbayigbe, he pledged his unwavering support for the party’s choice, emphasizing the importance of unity within the party ahead of the upcoming primaries.

This announcement was made public through his media office in Lagos today.

Ikugbayigbe expressed profound gratitude to his family members and supporters for their invaluable backing throughout the struggle, noting that this decision was made freely and voluntarily. He highlighted that his support for Ayinde is aimed at facilitating a smooth electoral process as the party prepares for the primaries scheduled for May 10, 2025.

As a seasoned administrator and public affairs analyst, Ikugbayigbe affirmed his commitment to party loyalty, stating unequivocally that he would never act against the decisions made by the party leadership. He acknowledged the role of the Egbe-Idimu LCDA G12 leadership in Ayinde’s selection, underscoring that Ayinde merits recognition for his steadfast loyalty to the party’s ideology since his initial run for councilorship position since 2007.
