This certainly is not a good time for Manchester United and its supporters worldwide as the club’s number one goalkeeper, David de Gea is a doubt for the club’s Premier League game against Liverpool on Sunday after coming off injured on Spain duty.
The 28-year-old appeared to have hurt his hamstring during his country’s Euro 2020 qualifier in Sweden.
After leaving the pitch, de Gea was replaced by Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga with his side trailing 1-0.
Spain later got an equaliser in injury-time through Rodrigo and secured Spain’s spot at the Euros.
De Gea’s injury came when he immediately grabbed the back of his leg after clearing a backpass from his own player.
He sat for some minutes on the ground in his six-yard box before making his way off the pitch .
United who is currently 12th in the Premier League and has not won in their past three top-flight games, may found Liverpool hard to beat on Sunday.
Liverpool side that has not lost any match in the premiership so far is aiming for its 18th consecutive Premier League win, a total that would equal the record held by Manchester City
De Gea’s inability to feature at Old Trafford on Sunday will afford Argentine Sergio Romero an opportunity to have a taste of the premiership this season
Romero has featured in the Europa League and Carabao Cup this season –
