Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George has joined the 2023 presidential race.

National Monitor gathered that George has made up his mind to go in for presidency in 2023 after series of meetings held both in Nigeria and abroad.
It was gathered that Chief Olabode George will unfold his presidential plan in the middle of 2020.
Specifically, the former governor of old Ondo State comprising the present Ekiti and Ondo State,  who successfully led the 2006/2007 campaign of  Late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua  as the Director General  is presently in London meeting with some prominent Nigerians on how to actualise his ambition.
George who is also the Atoona Oodua of Yorubaland though a PDP Board of Trustees member, but the group working for him to realise his ambition cut across many political parties .
George, a prominent Lagosian is an astute administrator, a political icon and a pan – Nigerian, having friends from across the nook and crannies of the country. He holds many chieftaincy titles and was recently conferred with National Leadership Award by the Northern Youths Council.
His tenure as South West Vice Chairman of the PDP led to the party winning five of the six South West states in 2003 losing only in Lagos State.
 When contacted, the Special Adviser to Chief  Bode George, Prince Uthman Shodipe – Dosumu confirmed the development.
He said : “The truth is that some prominent Nigerians have resolved to back Chief Bode George in the race for 2023. This is real and authoritative. In fact, a group, The Pathfinder Consortium, is already working underground as a foundation for a bigger and more robust national platform to actualise this presidential ambition.
“We can say 2023 is still far away but at the same time, it is not too far. Many stakeholders want real change in the country, politically and economically. This is not about PDP or APC. This is about Nigeria”,
