Delta State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old man,  Felix Osagie for the alleged abduction of a pastor in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Council of the state.

The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest, on Tuesday, said Osagie Felix Ologbo, who hails from Edo State, was arrested with the pastor’s snatched Lexus 330 SUV.

Edafe said: “On January 10, the DPO Oghara Division, CSP Jimoh Hassan received information from the DPO new Etete Division in Benin City, that on January 9, 2022, a pastor was kidnapped along with his black-coloured Lexus 330 SUV marked KWL 510 BH and that  a painstaking technical intelligence, revealed that the vehicle was parked  along Ibori Road in Oghara.”

He stated that the DPO Oghara Division directed his men to the area where the said vehicle was sighted and upon sighting the vehicle, operatives laid ambush and waited for the suspects to show up, and the suspects indeed showed up, but two of them escaped into the bush when the police went after them.

He added that luck ran against Osagie Felix, who later confessed to being a member of the kidnapping syndicate that kidnapped the Benin based pastor.

According to Edafe, Osagie led the operatives to Freedom View Hotel in Oghareki, where they were hibernating, and when the operatives searched his room, one cut to size double-barrel pistol, six live cartridges and the sum of N410, 000 which was part of N500, 000 ransom paid were recovered, while in another room, double barrel pistol, ten live cartridges and a laptop were also recovered.

He further said the victim’s vehicle has been taken to the station, while efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
