PLANS are underway by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to release the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Code –a guideline aimed at promoting ethical conduct in the FX market.

The code, which has been approved by the apex bank, is due for launch next Tuesday.

The CBN, in a statement, said the code serves as a guideline to the banking industry to promote the ethical conduct of authorised dealers in the country’s foreign exchange market.

“The Central Bank of Nigeria has approved the release of the Nigerian FX Code as a guideline to the banking industry to promote the ethical conduct of authorised dealers in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market. The Bank will formally launch the Code at the CBN Head Office Auditorium, Abuja, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025,” the statement said.
