In the wake of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearers being announced for the upcoming Local Government elections on July 12, 2025, Elder Comr. Oluwafemi Ikugbayigbe has extended heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Idris Balogun, popularly known as Oluomo Kafata, the newly-elected APC flag bearer for the Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area, following successful party primaries held on May 10, 2025.

In a statement expressing his appreciation for the election results, Ikugbayigbe highlighted the critical importance of unity within the party. He pointed out that he had previously withdrawn from his Chairmanship aspiration to support Hon. Rotn. Comr. Tayo Ayinde, emphasizing that this victory should be regarded as a collective triumph for democracy.

“The success of Hon. Oluomo should be recognized as a reflection of God’s will for our party and our community. It is essential for us to unite in support of this progress as we prepare for the Local Government elections on July 12, 2025,” Ikugbayigbe declared in his press release.

He further stressed the necessity of maintaining unity within the party, warning against the pitfalls of internal discord. “A house divided against itself cannot stand the test of time,” he asserted.

Ikugbayigbe urged any aggrieved party members to realign with the progressive shared goals and principles that connect them, articulating that collaboration is key to achieving sustained success.

“We must see this victory as God’s will rather than the result of mere human efforts and skills,” he insisted, calling on all members to rally behind Hon. Balogun as they face the electoral challenges ahead.

This statement was disseminated by Ikugbayigbe’s media office, reiterating the urgent call for solidarity among party members.
