MTN Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to strengthening bilateral business relations between Nigeria and South Africa as it hosted the leadership of the Nigeria–South Africa Chamber of Commerce (NSACC) in Lagos.
The courtesy visit, which comes ahead of the Chamber’s 25th anniversary, underscored the long-standing partnership between MTN and the NSACC, while setting the stage for deeper collaboration in trade and investment.
The NSACC delegation was led by its Chairman, Dr. Ije Jidenma, alongside Vice Chairman, Ajibola Olomola, and other members of the Board and Executive Committee.
The visit served as an acknowledgment of MTN’s contributions to fostering cross-border economic integration and its impactful footprint in Africa’s digital economy.
Speaking during the engagement, MTN Nigeria Chief Executive Officer, Karl Olutokun Toriola, described the Chamber as a key partner in advancing inclusive and sustainable growth across the continent. “At MTN, partnerships like this are vital to our mission of driving Africa’s progress,” Toriola said. “The NSACC provides a strong platform for advocacy, networking, and trade facilitation, and we are proud to walk this path together.”
In her remarks, Dr. Jidenma commended MTN’s investments in Nigeria’s digital infrastructure, citing the company’s recent $120 million investment in its Data Centre and its leadership in financial inclusion through MoMo Payment Service Bank (MoMo PSB). “MTN has consistently demonstrated leadership across sectors, shaping the future of connectivity and financial services in Africa,” she said.
The NSACC team also applauded MTN’s role in thought leadership, advocacy, and active participation on the Chamber’s board through its Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Tobe Okigbo.
Dr. Jidenma further announced the Chamber’s upcoming 25th anniversary celebrations, inviting MTN to play a pivotal role. “As one of our most valued members and a leading example of Nigeria–South Africa collaboration, we look forward to working with MTN to make this milestone both memorable and transformational,” she noted.
The engagement reinforced the shared vision of MTN and NSACC to deepen economic ties, promote social development, and drive sustainable prosperity between both nations.
