A civil society organisation, the Unity Advocacy Group, at weekend expressed confidence that the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies would respond adequately to the recent travel advisory issued by the United States and United Kingdom governments.
The UAG in a press statement said Nigerians must not be deterred, saying the enemies of the country will lose the war to the determination of troops of the AFN.
The release, signed by the Convener, Ifeanyi Aigbedion, said, “Not long ago, Troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralised 49 Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists in the Bama-Mandara-Damasak area of Borno State.
“We are gradually witnessing the return of our sisters kidnapped in Chibok
“There are 11 Chibok girls rescued in the 2022 joint operations, it may not be going the way we want it, but their rescue shows hope is not lost.
“The total number of surrendered terrorists along with their families as a result of military operations stood at 81 and 131.
“We urge Nigerians to remain resolute, prayerful, and alert to the antics of those who want to take our peace.
“UAG is assured that the Armed Forces under Gen. LEO Irabor can respond appropriately,” the group added.
