The Labour Party, through its National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, has terminated the appointments of some of its aides, including members of its presidential campaign committee, following the court’s decision to uphold the victory of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abure announced the terminations in a letter signed by the National Secretary, Malam Umar Farouk. The letter stated that all appointments related to elections and campaigns had been formally dissolved.

The affected appointees include:

1. Mr. Mandela Ukegbu, Chairman, Labour Party Presidential Campaign Committee on Special Duties
2. Engineer Balami Isaac David, Senior Special Assistant on Presidential Campaign, Fund Raising and Grassroot Mobilization
3. Didacus Joe-Adigwe, Senior Special Adviser on Strategy, Protocol and International Relations
4. Princess Ajibola, Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties and Mobilization
5. Isaac Imasuagbon, Senior Special Assistant on ICT

The party thanked the affected appointees for their services and wished them well in their future endeavours.

Recall that the party had rejected the results of the February presidential election and headed to court. However, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal dismissed its petition. An appeal on the petition did not also survive as the Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed it.
