In a welcome development for travelers this festive season, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced additional train trips on its popular Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Kaduna routes to accommodate the high volume of passengers returning from the Eid Kabir celebrations.

According to the NRC, the extra trips are scheduled to commence on Sunday and Monday to ease post-festival travel and ensure commuters enjoy a safe, comfortable, and timely return to their destinations.

“This decision is part of our commitment to serve Nigerians better, especially during peak periods like Eid Kabir,” the NRC said in a statement. “We are working to provide efficient and stress-free transport alternatives as people travel back to their work and homes.”

The Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Kaduna corridors have seen increased passenger demand in recent years, especially during national holidays. By adding more coaches and trips during this period, the NRC aims to reduce congestion and improve passenger satisfaction.

Travelers are advised to book tickets early via NRC’s online platform or at designated train stations to secure their seats.

This move has been widely welcomed by passengers, who see it as a sign of progress and responsiveness from the railway service.

As Nigeria continues to modernize its transportation infrastructure, this initiative underscores the NRC’s role in driving safer, more reliable public travel options across the country.
