In a bold move to promote purposeful retirement and financial empowerment, Heirs Insurance Group has launched a ₦5 million grant initiatives aimed at helping Nigerian retirees and pre-retirees bring their long-held dreams to life.
Tagged the Heirs Insurance Retirement Dream Competition, the initiative invites Nigerians aged between 50 and 75 either retired or approaching retirement to share their post-retirement aspirations for a chance to win financial support to actualise them. The competition is open to individuals who have previously been in paid employment.
Three finalists will be awarded grants from the ₦5 million prize pool. The top winner will receive ₦2.5 million, while the first and second runners-up will receive ₦1.5 million and ₦1 million respectively.
Interested participants are required to submit a one-minute video sharing their retirement dream and how the grant would make a meaningful impact. Entries can be submitted via the company’s website at www.heirsinsurancegroup.com/retireesclub between August 6 and September 12, 2025.
The competition is part of a broader initiative under the newly launched Heirs Insurance Retirees Club, a community platform designed to help Nigerian retirees stay connected, receive expert guidance on health and financial well-being, and improve their overall post-retirement lifestyle.
According to Heirs Insurance Group, both the Retirees Club and the Retirement Dream Competition align with the company’s purpose-driven mission to improve lives and contribute to national development. “This initiative is about more than just insurance it’s about empowering Nigerians to live their retirement years with dignity, purpose, and fulfillment,” the company said in a statement.
Winners of the competition will be announced in October 2025, and the initiative is expected to ignite conversations around retirement planning while spotlighting the potential of older Nigerians to contribute meaningfully to society.
Heirs Insurance Group, the insurance subsidiary of the pan-African conglomerate Heirs Holdings, has rapidly expanded its presence in Nigeria’s retail insurance space, leveraging both physical and digital channels to improve insurance accessibility and inclusion.
