The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released 279 results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) but were initially withheld over alleged examination malpractice.

The examination body disclosed that the decision followed the conclusion of investigations into cases of suspected infractions recorded during the conduct of the examination across various centres nationwide.

JAMB said the affected candidates were cleared after findings showed that they were not directly involved in any form of malpractice or examination misconduct.

The board, however, noted that investigations into other withheld results and alleged examination fraud were still ongoing, warning that candidates and centres found culpable would face appropriate sanctions.

According to the examination body, efforts are being intensified to safeguard the integrity of the UTME and curb examination malpractice through the deployment of technology and stricter monitoring mechanisms.

JAMB urged candidates to continue checking their admission status and examination details through its official platforms, while advising them to avoid fraudulent practices capable of jeopardising their academic future.

The board reaffirmed its commitment to conducting credible examinations and ensuring that only deserving candidates gain admission into tertiary institutions across the country.
